Course Overview

The Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry course is an initial induction course to allow access to construction sites where a site-specific induction is carried out. The course provides employees with the basic occupational health and safety knowledge they will need prior to commencing work on construction sites.

Studying the Prepare to work safely in the construction industry at Holmesglen

As part of the course, participants are required to demonstrate personal awareness and understanding of Health and Safety legislative requirements, communication and reporting processes, common construction hazards, risk control measures, and basic incident and emergency procedures.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.<p>There are no formal entry requirements for this program, however, Holmesglen recommends learners have a basic level of English literacy and numeracy skills.<p>Students are required to bring their own personal protective clothing and equipment, including:<br>high visibility vest<br>safety glasses or goggles
A pre-training review will determine the suitability of prospective learners to the course.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
