The course will enable you to develop broad-based competencies in a range of electrotechnology fields, such as lighting, general power, fire protection and security, robotics, instrumentation, optical data and voice systems, electrical motors and control systems.<p>Gain experience in the trade and use your skills to make informed choices in the selection of vocational career paths. You will gain a recognised qualification, as well as credits for further training as an apprentice or trainee in the electrotechnology industry.<p>The course involves face-to-face theory classes, some self-study online, and practical skills training in our simulated practical workshop area on campus. For online self-study, a tablet/laptop is required, and for the work simulations carried out on campus in the workshop, you will require work-wear, work boots and clear safety glasses.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
